I will not comment on the political implications of China's actions and decisions towards Tibet. What I would like to point out and question is, given that you have the freedom of speech for your political/humanitarism (etc.) beliefs, does it then mean that you have to right to make use of a public tool (Facebook) to proprogate actions acting on your beliefs (making known plans to protest during Olympic torch relay). I believe freedom of speech comes with responsibility. Even if you intended to announce your plans to the whole wide world, do you have the right to do it on a social network where you agreed to a bunch of terms and conditions? I say do it on your own hosted website to whatever audience you can harness. A much reiterated point is freedom of speech is not equivalent to freedom from being prosecuted for what you say.
Secondly, can I point out the inappropriateness of protesting at the Olympic torch relay event when Olympic Games emphasis sportsmanship, and friendship across countries? It is not a forum for you to express your political stands. The foreign embassy is more appropriate.
